8 customizable Screens and HAL's main Lens/Console
All screens should open automatically, but if not, open HAL.ini in the SKINPATH/Hal/eye folder. When the Console/Lens skin opens, click the blue & black HAL 9000 label, which will open all 8 screens. Right clicking the bottom gray area of the console will open the UserVariable.inc file, which will allow you to configure all of HAL's variables.
The "C8" screen (skinpath/hal/c8/c8.ini) should open on the lower right with an instruction file loaded in it. Please read that for more information.
Features include: 7 feed RSS reader Temperature and weather forecast GMail monitoring Wikipedia/Google Search Various System and Network monitors 6 Note editors/displays Random Flickr images Updated weather radar images Static image webcam feeds Winamp controller Links and shortcuts 2 Screensavers for each screen Easily customized Poke HAL in the eye and he talks to you.
I am aware that the cam, satellite and flickr feed sometimes freeze and require that you exit rainmeter completely and restart for them to enable. (or you can simply put it on a different setting and not look at the blank screen) I have no idea how to fix that, sorry.
This is my first skin/theme, so asking me how to get it to work will get the stock answer of "Fiddle with it till it works"
I really liked it but I think I have problems with 3 screens. When I clicked top of C1, C6, C7. It goes to different .ini file but suddenly it returns back to default .ini. I tried to wait clicked on these 3 screens. It worked fine but when I left my mouse it returns back to its first state.
I've noticed that. I have no idea what causes it. Clicking repeatedly usually works to get to the right screen, or you can right click and use the rainmeter pulldown to select which screen you want.
There are 26 different quotes that it should say when you left click the lens. If it is only using one on your system, then I don't know what to tell you.
Great theme. But the Hal panel at the center, the letters should be only the outline (traced) and not filled in color. Check this page out : [link] Tons of reference pictures.
Other than that small quirck, this theme is really awesome, thank you.
Every other picture of HAL on the internet has filled in letters, and none of the images from the movie are conclusive. And the guy who made the Hal console in the link you provided is basing the hollow letters on a prototype label he acquired. (it wasn't used in the movie)
btw, if you're a big ol' nerd and what nothing but tech rss feeds in your viewer, here's a list: Feed1=[link] Feed2=[link] Feed3=[link] Feed4=[link] Feed5=[link] Feed6=[link] Feed7=[link]
Hello ts, Great theme! One thing though. . . either I goofed mine while playing around with it, or you missed the A in front of Appname for the OpenOffice link. This obviously caused it not to launch - although, as I said, I could have deleted it and not noticed while derping around. VERY NICE JOB, either way.
